Tired of including boring links such as “buy now” or “click to download” in your posts? Would you rather use a button* instead? Maybe something like this?:
* Note: This is not a true button. It’s a stylized link. Not a big deal, but I thought I should clarify. Also, if you’re reading this in a reader, click on over to see the styled link and not a normal text link.
In your site’s CSS, add the following:
padding: 10px 20px;
Change all instances of COLOR to the appropriate color. Also, be sure to give your button a descriptive name. In my case, I named mine
.button-yellow. You could name yours
Now when you want to insert a
button styled link into the blog post, use the following in your post’s code (in WordPress, enter it in the Text tab, not the Visual tab. For Blogger, enter it in HTML view, not Compose):
<a class="button-NAME" href="URL">I am a button!</a>
Change “I am a button!” to whatever you want the link to say and insert the appropriate link. Make sure you’re using the correct class for the button as well.
You can create multiple button styles for different things. Just copy and paste the first bit of code for each instance, making sure to give each style a unique name.
